I recently returned home from an amazing month in New York City, where I was the Public Relations Intern at Nanette Lepore. I can only say that my time as a part of the Nanette Lepore family was short lived, yet eventful and fulfilling. I worked directly under three individuals, whom taught me that dedication and commitment is only the beginning to having a successful career in the fashion industry. I can honestly say that the experience I had was more than I ever could have asked for. As an intern I was allowed the opportunity to be myself and display my knowledge and talents all while learning new methods and best practices in a number of situations.
The excitement ran high during preparations for Fashion Week, and at that moment all I could do was squeal inwardly with excitement. True enough this wasn’t my first time at the Fashion Show Rodeo but it was my first opportunity to see what it takes on the inside. For anyone dreaming of a stress free career in Fashion, you are sadly mistaken. There are long days and sleepless nights, as an intern, one would think “oh what could you really be doing?” Seriously??? I wanted to make sure i stayed 30 steps ahead to make sure that I was an asset to the team and not a hinderance. At Nanette Lepore everyone’s work is valued and that’s what makes the difference.
I do not believe that my intern experiences would have been as amazing and positive at any other company. From my first day to my last day, I was warmly welcomed by all. I was never made to feel like just another intern, and running errands were fun for me because I always knew the end result was of importance and not just busy work. Assisting in Pulls for dressing Celebs for the show was one of my Favorite assignments, not only because it kept me on my toes, but it allowed me to assist and show my styling capabilities. I always felt great about what I was doing because I was alway assured that I was doing well. The simple things matter.
If I could fly back to New York right now and go back to interning I would immediately, without hesitation. I learned to be confident in my knowledge and how to communicate and work with others to achieve the same goal. I witnessed how my bosses valued each other as friends and colleagues, which made the environment so welcoming.
I just truly want to say thank you to everyone who made my time so worth while. I will never forget your kindess…
The time has come to discuss Fall boots… and yes I plan to have all of these beauties in my closet before the end of the year… Hopefully. The first pair that we must discuss come straight from one of my favorite sites www.urbanog.com. Let’s get down to it. The first pair Is Metallic greatness..
This boot comes in this amazing metallic color as well as black and retails for $45.50. Urban Og has a select number of sizes left so check them out here
The Next Boot also comes from Urban Og
This Peep Toe Bootie is a beauty and immediately caught my eye the moment I landed on Urban Og’s website. This bootie retails for $34.50 and comes in Chestnut, Grey, and Black. The selection is slim and can be purchased here.
This next bootie needs no introduction…
Although she needs very few words I just have to say that these are a conversation starter and definitely the accessory for any outfit. The Brandi boot can be found on ShoeDazzle and retail $54.95, however if you become a VIP Member you can receive special pricing at $22.98. The Brandi comes in Leopard & Blue/ Zebra & Red and can be found here.
The final Boot is simple but, the simplicity is more than accounted for by the amazing shade of Nude it comes in
Although Fall has arrived I am all for a nude to complement outfits of color. This boot would pair well with denim easily for a chic, effortless look. The Excite Me boot is a product of ASOS and retail for $72.36. To Purchase this boot click here.
Ladies, These booties are just the beginning of a stylish Fall/ Winter season. I can’t wait to see how you all pair these.
Happy Bootie Hunting!!!
